What is ClearColon Assist?

ClearColon Assist has been formulated to provide nutritional support for the lower digestive tract, and for use prior to colonoscopy and colonic irrigation. This herbal product also helps maintain bowel regularity, and is safe even for geriatric use.*

Ingredients

Cascara sagrada (Rhamnus purshiana)
One of the most important compounds in Cascara are the anthroquinones, which remain inactive in the digestive tract until they reach the colon. Anthraquinones have been shown to be of benefit in the bowel regularity due to their effect on peristalsis. Studies on the management of geriatric bowel irregularity have demonstrated purgative effects of Cascara.*

Psyllium (Plantago psyllium)
Due to its ability to bulk stools and improve stool consistency while keeping stools hydrated and soft, Psyllium has been shown to be useful in the treatment of conditions where both diarrhea and constipation may alternate. Polysaccharides in Psyllium form a gel in the intestine that helps to lubricate stool contents and facilitate ease of defecation. In addition, trials suggests that Psyllium may help to promote a healthy inflammation response, since it yields butyrate, a short-chain fatty acid which inhibits cytokine production and has an anti-inflammatory effect.*

Marshmallow (Althaea officinalis)
Marshmallow contains large sugar molecules called mucilage, which have demonstrated anti-inflammatory and soothingeffects on the gastro-intestinal tract.*

Chinese cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia)
Chinese cinnamon is a potent antioxidant that has been traditionally used as treatment for improving stomach function. Scientific research has shown that the two active compounds (cinnamomum cassia and O-glucoside) display gastroprotective effects including enhancing gastric blood flow.*

Caution: Do not use this product if you have abdominal pain or diarrhea. Consult a health care provider prior to use if you are pregnant or nursing a baby. Discontinue use in the event of diarrhea or watery stools. Do not exceed recommended dose. Not for long-term use.
